Urge

I’ll sit at my writing desk

in my underwear

and start writing

anything because of it,

that is, until another urge

starts to crown;

an urge to stop.

But that’s when I know

I’m onto something,

and when another urge;

an urge to continue,

crawls back up inside me

and starts to sort of gestate;

starts to get thicker and thicker,

until it’s ready to drop

down into awareness and

fly away.
